Photoinitiator 183, also known as 1-Hydroxycyclohexyl phenyl ketone, is a white crystalline powder with the following chemical properties:

Benzophenone is a photoinitiator used in paints and coatings: 

• ApplicationsBenzophenone is used in UV-cured coatings, printing inks, appliance paints, furniture paints, paper coatings, plastic coatings, rubber coatings, and wooden paints. 
• PropertiesBenzophenone is a conventional type II photoinitiator used in free radical UV curing systems. 
• DerivativesDerivatives of benzophenone have been developed to overcome the shortcomings of low molecular weight photoinitiators. For example, a polymerizable vinyl-modified benzophenone derivative (VBP) has a higher curing ability than benzophenone for acrylic monomers. 
• Use with other chemicalsBenzophenone can be used with amine synergists and non-pigmented coatings. Use aids like synergists or sensitizers can help utilize more of the light energy. 

Irgacure® 1173. Irgacure® 1173 by BASF acts as a photoinitiator. It is composed of 2-hydroxy-2-methyl-1-phenyl-propan-1-one. It is used in reactive and radiation curing adhesives.

Benzophenone is used as an ultraviolet curing agent, flavour ingredient, fragrance enhancer and perfume fixative, and as an additive for plastics, coatings and adhesive formulations. Benzophenone is also used as a screen to prevent ultraviolet light-induced damage to cosmetics.

Syna-PI TPO is a radical photoinitiator that can be used alone or in combination with other photoinitiators. It is used in formulations containing unsaturated materials such as acrylates, methacrylates, vinyl's and unsaturated polyesters.
